Privacy Policy

Your trust matters to us as much as your journey. This policy explains, plainly, what personal information we hold, why we hold it, and the control you keep over it. We collect only what we need to design and deliver your travels with care, and we never sell your data to anyone.

Who we are

My Lisbon Holidays is a small, owner-led travel design studio and destination management company, a licensed Portuguese tour operator based in Lisbon, Portugal. For the purposes of data protection law, we are the data controller for the personal information we hold about you.

You can reach us at any time about your data:

The information we collect

We only ever ask for what we genuinely need. Depending on how you reach us and how far your journey progresses, this may include:

  • Enquiry details — your name, email, phone number, and the things you tell us about the trip you have in mind (dates, party size, interests, preferences).
  • Travel details — once you become a client, the information needed to arrange and deliver your journey: travellers' names, and where a supplier requires it for booking, details such as dates of birth or identity-document information.
  • Correspondence — the messages we exchange by email, WhatsApp or our website form, so we can serve you well and keep a record of what was agreed.
  • Billing information — the details necessary to invoice and account for your trip. We do not store full payment-card numbers; card payments are handled by our regulated payment and banking partners.

How we use your information, and our legal basis

We use your personal information only for clear, limited purposes:

  • To respond to your enquiry and prepare a proposal — on the basis of taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in answering you.
  • To design, book and deliver your journey — on the basis of performing our contract with you.
  • To meet our legal and accounting obligations as a licensed Portuguese operator — on the basis of legal obligation.
  • To keep in touch where you have asked us to, or to share occasional news where we may do so — on the basis of consent or our legitimate interest, and you may opt out at any time.

Who we share it with

Designing a journey means working with trusted partners on your behalf. We share only the information necessary, and only with those who need it to deliver your trip: hotels and other accommodation, private guides and drivers, restaurants and experience providers, and, where relevant, the booking platform through which you came to us. We also use a small number of service providers (for example, secure email, document and accounting tools) who process data on our instructions and under appropriate safeguards.

We do not sell your personal data, and we never share it for third-party advertising.

International transfers

Most of your information stays within Portugal and the European Economic Area. Occasionally, delivering your journey or running our business means working with a partner or tool outside the EEA. Where that happens, we take the steps the law requires to ensure your data remains protected to an equivalent standard.

How long we keep it

We keep your information only as long as needed for the purpose it was given, and to meet our legal obligations. Enquiry details that do not lead to a booking are kept for a limited period and then deleted. Records relating to a journey we delivered are kept for the longer periods required by Portuguese tax and commercial law. When information is no longer needed, we delete it securely.

Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you;
  • have inaccurate information corrected;
  • ask us to erase your information, where there is no overriding reason to keep it;
  • restrict or object to how we use it;
  • receive your information in a portable format; and
  • withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on it.

To exercise any of these, simply write to us at myinfo@mylisbonholidays.com. We will always respond. If you feel we have not handled your data properly, you have the right to complain to the Portuguese supervisory authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD), at www.cnpd.pt.

Cookies and this website

Our website is deliberately light. It uses only the cookies strictly necessary for the site to work, and we do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. Where our contact form leads to WhatsApp, your message is handled under WhatsApp's own terms and privacy policy.

How we protect your information

We treat your information with the same discretion we bring to every part of your journey. We limit access to those who need it, use reputable and secured tools, and ask the partners we work with to do the same.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time as our business or the law evolves. The current version, with its date, will always live here.
