Arrábida Wine Tour from Lisbon
A day south of the river. Vineyards and old cellars, a turquoise cove beneath the Arrábida hills, and a fishing village where the catch comes straight off the boats.
Cross the Tagus and the country changes. South of Lisbon, the Arrábida hills fall green into a sea so clear it looks borrowed from somewhere warmer. And between the viewpoints lie old wineries, a working fishing village, and a factory where Portugal's famous tiles are still made by hand.
A day drawn around the highlights
A tasting in an old cellar
Wines from one of Portugal's oldest producers, the regional reds and the celebrated Moscatel of Setúbal, poured where they are made.
The Arrábida Natural Park
The mountain road and its sweeping views. Green hills dropping to the turquoise cove of Portinho da Arrábida, almost too bright to be real.
Sesimbra & Cabo Espichel
A working fishing village on a calm bay, and the wind-blown clifftop sanctuary of Cabo Espichel at the land's edge.
How a handmade tile is made
A traditional factory in Azeitão where you'll see, step by step, how Portugal's famous azulejos are still made by hand.

Questions, answered
How long is the day?
About 7 hours, door to door, with pick-up and drop-off at your Lisbon hotel: an unhurried day of vineyards, coast and clifftops.
How many wines?
You'll taste a selection at a historic winery. Typically the regional reds and the famous Moscatel of Setúbal. If you'd like to add a second estate, tell us and we'll build it into the day.
Is lunch included?
Lunch isn't included: the pleasure here is choosing your own table by the water at Portinho da Arrábida, looking out over that turquoise cove. Your guide will steer you to the best of the day.
Can it be tailored?
Very much so. This is a private day, yours to shape. More time among the vineyards, a swim at Portinho da Arrábida, the market at Setúbal: tell us what draws you and we'll build the route around it.
Can you take a larger group?
Yes, for larger groups we arrange a private coach with your guide. Tell us your numbers and we'll tailor it.
